You moved into a house with an existing home security system
Sometimes when you purchase a house, a home security system is already in use. All the alarms and cameras work, are hung in the correct spaces, and are ready to go. In this example, you might see that you have to call and establish a new contract. A Vivint professional will still come to your home to make sure there are no integration problems, and they could offer options on upgrades. It's a quick appointment, and you can get your alarm monitoring set up without paying for any new components -- unless you add on.
The outgoing homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to your family for a nominal set-up fee to make your life simpler. If the outgoing residents are moving to an apartment complex or smaller home, transferring the home security service might be a condition of the sale.
You want to move and take your old devices with you
You may need to take your old smart devices with you to a new place when you move. That’s pretty simple to transfer, as many components are wireless. You can uninstall each device by yourself or contact a Vivint expert to take down the system. Then an expert will put in the same devices -- and any additions you need to put in -- in the new house. Your home security contract will remain the same.
